AGRICULTURE & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Dr. Craig Smith, PhD
Director, Agriculture & Sustainable Development
Former Conservation Agronomist, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
Dr. Smith is an agronomist with a PhD in Crop Physiology from the University of Illinois and BS and MS degrees in Agronomy from the University of Florida. He brings decades of agricultural, conservation, and international development experience to TIM.
His career includes five years in central Africa in agricultural extension and research, three years in Nepal, two years in Latin America providing research and technical support, and eleven years across the western Pacific islands in research, extension, and soil conservation.
His U.S. experience includes work in Alaska and Louisiana in soil conservation, followed by extensive focus on soil health, erosion reduction, and management of pesticide runoff affecting lakes and streams.
At TIM, his expertise supports the development of agricultural education, sustainable agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural workforce development, soil health, and practical conservation programs.
Building a multidisciplinary team.As TIM expands its programs, additional educators, trainers, technical specialists, and community partners will contribute expertise aligned with specific projects and institutional needs.

Chief Ifeanyi Chiedu
Chief Chiedu brings experience in healthcare administration, rehabilitation services, and respiratory care. His background includes managing operations at Horizon Home Health Care and BCR Rehab Center, with responsibilities in supervision, staff development, and medical billing. He holds a BBA in Accounting and Management from Texas Southern University and has respiratory care training.

Jenifer Eche is an international clinical research and operations leader with more than two decades of experience in feasibility, project management, strategic planning, process improvement, and team development. Her work has spanned the United States, Asia-Pacific, and global projects.
She brings this international operations perspective to TIM’s Board of Directors.

Edith Umeh is a family nurse practitioner with experience in family practice, healthcare staffing, and correctional health. Her work emphasizes patient-centered, evidence-based care and careful assessment.

Prof. Chimezie Anyakora
Advisory Board Member for International Relations and Strategic Partnerships
Professor Chimezie Anyakora is a pharmaceutical scientist, public health leader, and policy advisor with more than two decades of experience across Africa. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Bloom Public Health Group and previously served as Nigeria Country Director for the U.S. Pharmacopeia and Chief of Party for the Promoting the Quality of Medicines program.
His work has included leading initiatives across multiple African countries, coordinating partnerships among government, industry, and academic institutions, and advising on policies related to medicine quality and vaccine manufacturing. He also spent more than a decade as a faculty member at the University of Lagos.
At the Texas Institute of Management, Professor Anyakora advises on international relations and strategic partnerships. He brings valuable experience working across countries and institutions to support TIM’s international engagement.

James Phillips, PhD
Advisory Board Member for Business, IT & Organizational Improvement
James Phillips, PhD, brings more than 40 years of experience in executive management, innovation, and organizational improvement. His work spans business and IT management, leadership, and organizational change across B2C and B2B businesses, hospitality, education, and healthcare.
His areas of interest include systems and process analysis and improvement. At the Texas Institute of Management, Dr. Phillips brings this experience to the Advisory Board, supporting TIM’s work in leadership development, management education, and organizational effectiveness.
